Spike: I want the winner of Lee versus Saunders

GARY ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan wants to challenge the winner of Andy Lee versus Billy Joe Saunders WBO World title fight.

The Cork man hopes to appear on the undercard of the massive Thomond Park hosted clash on September 19 and will be one of 33,000 interested spectators when the Limerick’s Lee puts his title on the line.

The Murphy’s Boxing middleweight is hoping to tempt the winner of the clash into the ring and believes a bout between himself and either Lee or Saunders would be a ticket selling fan friendly clash.

“I would like to fight the winner of Andy Lee versus Billy Joe. If I got the Billy Joe fight it would be like two birds with one stone, avenging my only defeat and winning a World title in the same night. With Andy Lee it would be the first time in history two Irish men fought for a World title which would be very good too,” said Spike.

The big punching Celtic Warrior Gym fighter is World title hungry and if a clash with whoever emerges from the eagerly anticipated clash with the WBO middleweight title isn’t possible he is happy to fight any of the divisions champions.

“I would like to be World champion in the next 12 months. I would also like Golovkin, Lemiuex any of the big middleweights.”
