Scott Quigg: I want to beat Frampton next

Despite Eddie Hearn claiming that Carl Frampton will move up to featherweight to avoid Scott Quigg, the Bury boxer believes that ‘The Jackal’ DOES wants to fight him.

Speaking yesterday to Sky Sports News, Quigg noted the changed landscape after their respective fights on Saturday, arguing that “the fight’s just got bigger because of the performance that I put in, and him not doing as well as he normally does.”

Whereas promoter Eddie Hearn seems to favour about with Filipino legend, Nonito Donaire – a hopeful Quigg still wants the Frampton fight, saying that “I do think the fight has to happen. The fight will get made and hopefully this year.”

The 26 year year old outlined that everyone wants the fight – and it’s all down to Matchroom and Cyclone Promotions sorting out an agreement, explaining that “a fight like this, the demand for it by the public. I want the fight, I believe he wants the fight – it’s just about our teams getting together and making the fight.”

If the bout does get made, Quigg is supremely confident, claiming that “I’m one million percent confident that I will beat him.”
