European Junior Championships – Day 1 RESULTS + Day 2 FIXTURES

It was five through and five out for Ireland on the opening day of the European Junior Championships in Galati yesterday and the action continues apace in Romania this afternoon.

Euro Schoolgirls bronze medallist Robyn Kelly, Tiegan Farrell, Michael McDonagh, Martin McCullough, and Taylor Guiney recorded unanimous decision wins, the ladies in the Last 16 and the Men in the Round of 32.

However, there were five agonising split-decision defeats for Thomas McDonnell, Selby Myers, James Ward, Jason Nevin, and Thomas King.

McCullough is back in action today alongside female captain Rachael Lawless, Aaliyah Butler, Mark Duffy, and European Schoolgirls gold medallist Winnie McDonagh.
