RESULTS – The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – FEBRUARY

We must finally bring an end to voting in one of the biggest Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month awards ever.

February was a stellar month for the sport in Ireland and action close to home, namely the Liffey Crane Hire National Elite Senior Championships, featured highly.

A huge amount of votes came in throughout the week and, without further ado, the award goes to…

Christina Desmond

The Cork fighter was back in the ring and back on top, claiming the National Elite welterweight title.

Following a year out with injury and personal reasons, Desmond had a big mountain to climb to fight her way into Tokyo contention and duly did so.

The Fr Horgan’s puncher moved down in weight to welter and dethroned reigning champion and Best Boxer Gráinne Walsh, picking up her first Elite title in the ring and the Jimmy Magee Best Boxer award in the process.

The Cill na Martra fighter will now go on to the European Games in Minsk and the World Championships in Ulan-Ude as she chases her Olympic dream.
