Dressing room-gate: Frampton-Quigg press conference descends into chaos

Carl Frampton has laughed off the dressing room furore that broke out prior to today’s final press conference for his PPV showdown with Scott Quigg .

The conference, the first part of which was shown live on Sky Sports News, was delayed due to a disagreement over the allocation of the largest dressing room at the Manchester Arena.

Frampton, who asserts that he is the a-side of the fight felt that he should, be given the room, whereas Bury’s Quigg felt that he should have the room as he is the ‘home’ fighter in terms of location.

Frampton however explained that he is not overly concerned about where he gets ready for the mega-fight, and instead revealed that he is merely playing on Quigg’s superstitions.

On ‘dressing room-gate,’ the Belfast man described how “it’s a bit of a laughing matter.”

“Scott wants the dressing room the star usually takes.”

“I’m the A-side here.”

“I’m entitled to the dressing room!” joked Frampton.

Indeed ‘The Jackal’ feels that Quigg’s insistence on taking the dressing room shows a lack of confidence on the Englishman’s part.

The 29 year old reasoned that “he badly wants the dressing room, that shows a sign of weakness.”

“Superstition is a sign of weakness.”

“[For me] this is a matter of principle

Frampton would question Quigg and Matchroom, offering the solution of: “why not lock the door and go to separate rooms?”

“Scott doesn’t wan’t to!”
