Conlan and Gardiner into multi nations finals in Poland today

Belfast’s Michael Conlan and Tipperary’s Dean Gardiner are through to Saturday’s Elite Feliks Stamm Memorial finals in Warsaw, Poland.
Conlan, a bronze medallist at the London Olympics, beat Russian southpaw Nikita Federchenko in the bantamweight class on a unanimous decision today.
And Gardiner followed that up with a unanimous decision over Poland’s Roger Chryniuk in the super-heavy class.
David Oliver Joyce and Dean Walsh has to settle for bronze today after losing their semi-finals to Tajikistan’s Anavar Yunusov and Russia’s Vitaliy Dunaytsev on split and unanimous decision.
The Feliks Stamm Memorial finals will be decided tomorrow. Meanwhile, Kurt Walker progressed to Saturday’s Elite Gee Bee Multi Nations semi-finals following a unanimous decision over Norwegian bantam Ali Srour in Helsinki, Finland today.
But Sean McComb and Michael Nevin went out at the last-eight stage this afternoon.
Hughie Myers received a bye into the last-four in Helsinki.
