Ward and Joyce register impressive APB wins

Joe Ward and David Oliver Joyce claimed two notable victories in AIBA Pro Boxing in Bulgaria and Kazakhstan last night.

The former Irish Elite champions hammered out unanimous decisions over Uzbekistan’s who is currently ranked No. 2 in the world by AIBA, in Sofia.

Ward, who is ranked No.1 in the world. beat the Uzbek (59-55,58-56,59-55) over six rounds in the light-heavyweight class.

Joyce got the ball rolling yesterday with an emphatic victory over ex AIBA World Elite champion Domenico Valentino.

The final score read 6(0-54,60-54,59-54) to Joyce, who has now beaten the Italian three times.

Friday’s victories saw the duO bounce back from their debut reversals in APB in Almaty and Sofia last month.
