Spike presents Olympic Heroes with ‘Steak and Spuds’

Marketing genius Gary Spike O’Sullivan was on hand to present Irish Olympic heroes Gary and Paul O’Donovan ‘steak and spuds’ upon their arrival home to Cork.

The rowers, who won Irish hearts with their interviews and medal winning exploits in Rio, arrived back to Ireland slightly later than the rest of Ireland due to Gary’s detour to the World Championships in Rotterdam – where he won Lightweight Single Sculls gold to add to his Olympic Lightweight Double Sculls silver

The pair, who touched down at Cork Airport on Sunday night to a hero’s welcome.

Never one to miss the chance to have a laugh and garner some publicity fellow Cork sports man O’Sullivan was on hand with the steak and spuds they had mentioned more than once in some of their by now-famous Olympic interviews.
