Sean Turner: Friendship goes out the window once we step in the ring

SEAN ‘Big Sexy’ Turner claims it will be all business when he trades leather with friend Moses Matovu in Downpatrick on Saturday night.

The big punching former Senior Champion takes to the ring for the third time as a pro in a contest that has a big keep busy feel to it.

Having registered two knock out wins since turning over the the Dubliner is expecting to go the four round distance this time round.

Matovu is experienced and a survival expert and Turner is hopeful his former sparring partner can take him the distance. However, ‘Big Sexy’ warns if he lands flush or gets over exuberant it could be good night for his promotional stable mate.

“I fight Moses. I know Moses, but business is business and I he stands between me and another win,” Turner told Irish-boxing.com.

“Moses is experienced and should be able to give me rounds. I think at this stage of my career I need rounds. It would be good for the fitness and to get experience. I won’t be trying to take his head off, but if he comes at me or I get over excited it won’t go four, but in saying that four rounds will do me good. I will move on to six rounders next.”

Turner isn’t expecting a big crowd on Saturday with the fight being outside of his home town on the day after Halloween.

However, the heavyweight prospect is hopeful he can give his fan base within in two weeks of Saturday. Turner hopes to be added to the Return Of The Mack card set for the 3Arena on November 15.

“If I come through this fight ok hopefully I can get on the Dublin November 15 show. It would be great to give my fans the chance to see me so close to home and on such a big card. I would sell a lot on that show and I don’t care where I am on the card, hopefully I can get on it. First though I have to beat Moses.”
