Stephen Ormond will make his Murphy’s Boxing debut against veteran lightweight puncher Micheal Clark on October 10.
The American will provide the opposition for the ‘The Rock’ as he looks to impress on his return Stateside as well as his PBC and Al Haymon debut.
Clark is a veteran of 58 bouts and boasts 44 wins, however despite being a former World title challenger the 42 year old is widely regarded to be past his best and is the type of opponent Ormond would be keen to beat convincingly as he moves toward World title shots and big PBC Cards.
Clark challenged Artur Grigorian for the WBO World lightweight title back in 1999 and brought Vivan Harris the distance a year later, but has been stopped in his last three fights, one of which was against Dublin’s Jamie Kavanagh.
‘The Nuisance’stopped the American in five rounds, while Dusty Harrison and Danny ‘Bhoy’ O’Connor had him out in a round more recently.
