O’Reilly denied Rio Olympic spot by shocking judges decision

Michael O’Reilly has been disgracefully denied a place at the RIO Olympics after a shocking judges decision in Doha.

Fighting in the 75kg class against Egyptian Hossam Abdin, O’Reilly clearly won the first two rounds but all three judges gave those rounds to Abdin.

O’Reilly won the third on the judges cards although it was clearly the Egyptian’s best round.

The 29-28 decision against O’Reilly left many including Paddy Barnes and Kenny Egan perplexed. (See Tweets Below)

O’Reilly, who will be bringing home bronze, looked rightfully disgusted by the decision.
