Cork welterweight Noel Murphy [10(2)-0] will face unbeaten opposition next weekend on a massive card in New York.

The Irish fighter, alongside Bray’s Katie Taylor, features on the undercard of Mikey Garcia v Adrien Broner at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn on Saturday July 29th.

Here Murphy will face Puerto Rican Julio Cesar Sanchez [11(6)-0] over eight rounds in another solid fight for the Macroom man.

Sanchez’s record has been built against admittedly weak opposition, with just one of his past foes having ever registered a win, however the Caribbean boxer still represents something of a dangerous and unknown foe.

It is a fourth good fight of 2017 for the Lou DiBella-promoted prospect. Fighting out of Woodlawn, NY, Murphy has rose steadily through the ranks this year, overcoming solid opponents in Maxito Sainvil,Abelino Vazquez, and Brian Jones.

Opposition for Katie Taylor, who also boxes in an eight rounder (although with two-minute rounds), will be confirmed shortly.
