Santa Cruz promises Frampton trouble – “I’m not Scott Quigg”

Leo Santa Cruz has promised Carl Frampton that he won’t have it as easy as he did against Scott Quigg when the two clash in New York on July 30th.
Santa Cruz defends his WBA featherweight belt against ‘The Jackal’ at the Barclays Centre, and the three-weight World champion is bullish about his chances.
Speaking to international media last night on a conference call, El Terremoto predicted that “this will be a very entertaining fight and the best man will take it.”
“Weāll go out there to prepare for a full twelve rounds. And weāre ready to make it a war.”
Santa Cruz, as always, was highly complementary of Frampton and admitted that “I think heāll be the best fighter Iāve faced so far. Heās a big superstar over there in the U.K.”
“Iāve only seen a bit of him, but from what Iāve seen, heās great.”
“Itās more motivation for me to give him his first loss. Iāll be giving him my best. Weāll be making it a great fight for the fans.”
“He has great footwork and power. I like his style.”
“Heās similar to Mares and heās almost the same size.”
“His style and mine can make things exciting. We can go toe-to-toe if we get there and the fans will enjoy it.”
The Mexican-American fighter is anticipating a much more open fight than Frampton’s cagey super bantamweight unification fight with Scott Quigg in February, asserting that “Iām not Scott Quigg.”
“He was more careful. Actually, neither guy wanted to risk anything.”
“Not me, though. Iāll have him in trouble the whole time.”
Describing what his approach will be like, Santa Cruz outlined how “Iāll try to break him down and work the body. But if that doesnāt work, then we have a plan for that.”
“Weāve been training for either an inside or outside fighter.”
