European Junior Championships – Six Irish boxers compete for medals
Six Irish boxers contest for podium places at the European Junior Championships today.
Cassie Henderson, Kaysie Joyce, and Kayleigh Byrne all secured bronze at least with impressive displays on Women’s Quarter-final day.
It’s over to Kalib Walsh, John Donoghue, Michael O’Reilly, Eddie Corcoran, Edward Harty and John Mongans all contest for hardware.
Walsh takes on Scotland’s Aaron Sarwar for a 50kg medal in Bout 3 of Ring A’s Afternoon Session. In Ring B’s Bout 10, 66kg John Donoghue will box William Joseph Loveridge of England, while Harty trades leather with Greek Panagiotis Kalamaris.
In Ring A’s Evening Session, 48kg O’Reilly takes on Azerbaijan’s Nihat Gasimov. In the subsequent bout, 52kg Corcoran boxes Greece’s Nearchos-Petros Konstantinoudis.
In Bout 11 of Ring A’s Evening Session, 80kg Mongans contests against Tobias FP Taylor.
