Zuffa Belt – Callum Walsh on Course for Big Benn Bout
Callum Walsh looks set to be handed a massive fight with Conor Benn.
The Cork fighter could be the main beneficiary of the Brits’ Matchroom fallout and move to Zuffa Boxing.
Benn joined ‘The King’ on the Zuffa roster over the weekend, making a move that caused a sizable stirr in the process.
Reports suggest ‘The Destoryer’ has signed a one fight deal in the xx figure range.
Irish-boxing.com understand that Dana White and co are keen to make that fight with Walsh.
The plan is to have the pair fight at 160lbs for the Zuffa middleweight title.
While it’s a move away from the traditional title set up it remains a massive fight for the Cobh southpaw.
Benn is a huge name but not a fighter the undefeated LA based Munster man would fear.
Walsh isn’t the only Irish fighter to be linked to Benn this year. IBF world campion Lewis Crocker found himself in a similar position but Benn’s move away from Matchroom looks to have spoiled any hopes of high profile and lucrative meeting.
