Title chance for young Michael Gomez Jr

Michael Gomez Jr is to fight for the first title of his professional title career in September.

The 5(1)-0 super featherweight will take on unbeaten Alex Rutter [9(0)-0] for the BBBoC Central Area title at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on September 17th.

21 year old Gomez is the son of Longford born Michael Gomez, who during his exciting career was a two-time British super featherweight champion and Irish title challenger.

Before this opportunity, the youngster was in contention for a slot on last weekend’s ‘The Future’ card, and expect the Manchester-born fighter to be appearing on these shores in the future.

For Gomez Jr, who has not fought since last October, ‘Big Al’ presents a career-toughest fight – although the same can be said for Rutter himself.
