Spike O’Sullivan wants to knock out Eubank Jr in Thomond

CHRIS Eubank Jr is back on the top of Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan’s hit list and the Cork man wants to knockout the WBA interim middleweight champion in Thomond Park on September 19.

Names like Gennady Golovkin, Eamonn O’Kane and even Andy Lee have been mentioned by the Murphy’s boxing middleweight of late, but upon hearing Andy Lee will defend his WBO middleweight title at the home of Munster Rugby ‘Spike’ has re set his sights on Eubank Jr.

The Cork man came close to fighting the son of Chris Eubank, who twice lost to Steve Collins in Ireland, earlier in the year, but turned down an offer because promoter Frank Warren wanted to too many options if he won.

However, now World title action is set for the West ‘Spike’ believes a clash with Eubank is ideal for the undercard.

“I’m delighted to see that Andy Lee will be defending his world title against Billy Joe Saunders at Thomond Park Stadium – Limerick – Ireland on September 19th.

“I’d love to fight on that card, and who better as an opponent than Chris Eubank Jr? Jr should stop hiding behind excuses and small print and, like his father, come and fight an Irishman here in Ireland.

“Everyone knows that if Chris Eubank Jr faces me he gets knocked out.”
