Shakur Stevenson wants to ‘F**k Up’ ‘punk’ Carl Frampton

Shakur Stevenson[15(8)-0] says he’d love to be the man to retire ‘punk’ Carl Frampton [28(16)-2(0)], but doesn’t believe he will get the chance.

The American cruised past Toka Kahn Clary at the MGM Grand “Bubble” in Las Vegas on Saturday, registering a win that earns him a shot at the winner of the yet to be officially confirmed Jamel Herring vs Frampton WBO super featherweight world title fight.

After the win the Rio gold medal winner switched his attention to his proposed clash with whoever holds the title in the spring after his win – and hasn’t held back when discussing ‘The Jackal’.

The 23-year-old claims he would love to send the Belfast fighter into retirement.

The brash American predicts he would do damage to one of Ireland’s greatest fighters and says he would come to Belfast to do so, although he can’t forsee a meeting of the Top Rank prospects.

‘Fearless’ suggesting Herring will win the fight and claiming Frampton will run from the clash if he manages to make history and become Ireland’s first ever three weight world champ.

“His punk a– doesn’t want to fight me, that dude, I think he’s scared to fight me. If he comes through [against Jamel] Herring I’m going to f— him up.

“I don’t think he’ll fight me, I think even if he wins he was talking about retiring, I don’t think he really wants to fight me.”

“I would love to come to the lion’s den in Belfast and beat-up on Frampton,” he said.

“I’d love to be the person to retire Frampton.”

Stevenson, who was initially seen as possible Michael Conlan rival, also argues the Jamie Moore trained fighter is made for him.

“Frampton has got the perfect style for me, the sit back and box, looking for hard, big punches – that s— won’t work. Over the course of the fight, I’ll stop him.”

Casting more aspersions on Frampton’s ability, Stevenson predicted a victory for Jamel when they eventually meet.

“I think Jamel will beat Frampton, I think Frampton is too small,” he explained.

“ I think Jamel will outbox him and use his reach and range against Frampton, I can’t see him finding a way to hit or reach Jamel. Herring is a really big 130-pounder.”
