Round 1 to Fury? – Canvas changed for heavyweight showdown
There was drama this morning when Tyson Fury threatened to withdraw from his massive heavyweight title clash with Wladimir Klitschko in Germany.
This threat was due to the canvas at the ESPRIT Arena in Duesseldorf which was argued to be too soft and bouncy, and therefore dangerous and detrimental to Fury.
However, the fight will now go ahead after some last minute negotiation between the two camps that resulted in the removal of some of the ring’s foam underlay.
