Rogan’s Tyson Fury

Martin Rogan claims Tyson Fury’s proposed Belfast ‘homecoming’ will fall flat on its face before the Iron man gets the chance to knock Fury flat on his.

The Belfast based heavyweight claims he has yet to be contacted about a potential dust up with the British and Commonwealth champion, but believes Hennessy Sports have booked the King Hall for September 17 with him in mind.

The former cab driver  is confident he would stop the 23 year old English fighter of Irish decent and like most fans believes Fury Rogan would guarantee fire works.

However, the inaugural Prizefighter winner is adamant he won’t compete on anyone else’s terms and predicts the fight which is scheduled for one week after the appetising Paul McCloskey bill will not go ahead.

“There is a lot of rumours going round about me and Tyson Fury. Everyone knows I am fighting him except me it seems. The official story is I have yet to be contacted about the fight. They booked that date planning to fight me, but I have had no contact whatsoever from anyone in Hennessy Sports. That bill is going to fall flat on its face. They might be assuming I will just take the bout but I am not jumping through hoops to suit promoters anymore. Tyson Fury is not going to sell out the Kings Hall. Where is his fan base in Ireland.  He is like Barrack Obama he says little bits of him are from Clare, Tipperary and now Belfast? I am Belfast’s heavyweight boxer and they are trying to do business on my back,” Rogan told Mirror Sport.

Hennessey Sports claim Rogan, who has a EU title fight in Germany lined up for October, has been contacted but is not keen on the fight.

But the former Commonwealth champion stressed the fact he was willing to challenge 23 year old with just days notice last month is proof he has no aversions to challenging the man mountain.

“I will fight Tyson Fury no problem, but on agreed terms. I am not backing out of this fight. I went to London two weeks ago ready to fight him at a days notice. They were afraid Dereck Chisora wasn’t going to fight and asked me to be on stand by. I was that confident I could beat him I was willing to take the fight at such short notice. I would fight Fury, I would knock him out and beat him senseless, but as I said I have yet to be contacted about the fight everyone is talking about.”
