Ormond faces Ruthless Murphy’s boxing debut

Dublin lightweight Stephen Ormond faces home town boy Augustine Mauras when he makes his Murphy’s Boxing debut next month.

‘The Rock’ goes to work in America for the first time in 2009 when he trades leather in the famous Lowell Memorial Auditorium on October 10th as part of a Murphy’s Boxing show headlined by Irish-American welterweight Danny O’Connor, and shown live on NBC Sports as part of Al Haymon’s ‘Premier Boxing Champions’ series.

Ormond [18(9)-2(0)] is hoping to win over the American fight fans with his all action style, but  the Clondalkin throwback fighter will have to upset some in the crowd come October 10.

The Celtic Gym fighter faces local boxer Agustine Mauras [6(3)-1(0)-3] in a bout to introduce himself to the U.S. audience before he starts chasing titles.

Also on the card is Jobstown featherweight Pajo Hyland, whose opponent will be announced over the coming days.
