Odds slashed on Mick Conlan to win Olympic gold

Back in August, in the aftermath of his gold medal win at the European Championships, Irish bookmaking giant Paddy Power released tasty looking odds of 5/1 for Belfast bantamweight Mick Conlan to win Olympic gold.

Many jumped on the price, and Conlan himself even joked at the length of the odds:

Now, after his glorious gold a the World Championships last week, Conlan can currently only be had at a measly 6/4 to claim top prize at next year’s Olympiad.

Additionally, Paddy Barnes’s odds have also shortened since August, shrinking from 6/4 to 5/4, most likely due to the removal of the threat of an Olympic box-off with Brendan Irvine.

Finally, the odds on the pair winning double gold in Rio has been cut from 14/1 to just 4/1.
