Irish boxing nomad Rohan Date [11(8)-0-1] is America bound.

The big punching Waterford welter has confirmed his first fight of 2020 will take place Stateside.

Indeed, Date will become a headline act as trades leather in the USA for the first time as a pro.

The unbeaten 26-year-old makes somewhat of a step up as he fights Greg Jackson at the Parx Casino on January 31.

Jackson has seven defeats on his record, but the man they call ‘Japan’ goes into the fight on a three fight winning streak. He also has never been stopped in those seven reverses.

It’s the first time Date will trade leather in America since 2013 and since he turned pro. His last trip proved successful as he won the World Golden Gloves.

The well traveled puncher started his career in Dubai before returning to Ireland and registering back to back knockouts. A stint in England followed before he benefited from MTK’s presence in the Middle East and fought and twice registered wins in Dubai this year.

He now heads to America and Philadelphia specifically were he will be looking for his twelfth career win.
