My job is to beat the bravado out of Saunders says Lee
Andy Lee has faced some big name fighters in his 37 fight career.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin and Matt Korobov are certainly names know around the World.
However, mandatory challenger for his WBO middleweight title Billy Joe Saunders, who he trades leather with in Manchester on October 10 certainly posses more ‘bravado’ than any puncher he shared the ring with.
And Lee claims he will have to beat the spark out of the speedy middleweight.
When asked by Boxnation if the former European and British champion was the trickiest fighter he has agreed to fight the Limerick man said:
āMaybe, yeah, but definitely with the most bravado, he has a bit of spark about him. But as I said Iām just going to have to beat it out of him. Iāve said it before, itās my job to beat it out of him.
āIt doesnāt sound that eloquent but thatās literally what I have to do. To go in there and with every punch hurt him.ā
The Adam Booth trained Irishman claims the clash is evenly balanced and stresses both have different qualities which could cancel each other out.
āThereās not much between us,ā said Lee. āFor what I gain in power, he gains in speed. So our strengths and weaknesses balance out and it might come down to who wants it more.ā
