BOSTON based Donegal welterweight Michael McLaughlin will fight former Floyd Mayweather foe Sam Girard for the New England Championships on July 26.
The fight night which will be played out at the Royal in Boston also see’s John Hutchinson challenging for the middleweight version of the strap.
Irish title hopeful McLaughlin’s opponent also shared the ring with Paul Spadafora and won 17 of his 25 fights. However, American hasn’t laced on a pair of gloves in 16 years and Donegal man should fancy his chances.
Recent Irish title challenger Hutchinson on the other hand faces a middleweight who fought this month. Russell Lamour provides the opposition for the Buncranna Banger and comes into the title bout with a record of eight straight wins.
