Masterclass in Voilence – Hijjah McMahon to bring Champion Swag to the Stadium
Hijjah McMahon is promising the best version of himself yet when she returns to the ring in Dublin on Saturday.
The rising Irish talent makes his first appearance since claiming the BUI Celtic title in Scotland last time out when he faces Christian Lopez Flores on the Judgement Day card.
It’s a bout the Belfast entertainer is expected to win and there isn’t as much at stake as his title outing in Scotland. However, the Dee Walsh trained fighter still wants to put on a show and will bring a champions swag to proceedings.
“I can’t wait to be back in the ring and show how I have levelled my game up again,” said McMahon when speaking to Irish-boxing.com.
“100 percent you will see the best version of Hijjah McMahon September 26th and I predict a masterclass in violence.”
The 25-year-old admits winning the Celtic title was a hugely significant moment, not just in terms of affording the JB Promotions man reason to celebrate. For the semi-pro graduate, it was validation and further proof he belongs.
“Winning the belt was a great feeling. It felt like a big relief because I always put pressure on myself to win and keep proving myself and my team right. So yeah it was a great feeling,” he adds before stressing the pretty belt brings a confidence boost with it.
“This camp was different for many reasons, mostly it was to do with my growth as a fighter and a person. I have lifted my standards in all aspects of my life.”
With a belt strapped around his waist and appearing on a domestic bliss bill, many felt McMahon may make the first defence of his title on Saturday.
That isn’t the case, but his next title fight may not be too far away.
“This fight was always about me getting back out there and shining before setting up a big finish to the end of the year. I don’t mind travelling if the opportunity makes sense I’m with all the smoke.”
