Knockout revenge for Darragh Foley

Top Pro Gif Ad

Dublin’s Darragh Foley got back to winning ways, and got some revenge, this afternoon in Australia.

‘Super’ Foley, fighting for the first time since his loss to Brandon Ogilvie, scored a sixth round stoppage over Filipino Joebert Delos Reyes.

The power-punching southpaw had lost to Reyes via a split decision last year, but there was to be no repeat this time round, and the judges were most definitely not needed.

The Irishman had returned to light welterweight for the clash and was too physically strong for his Asian opponent, dropping him twice in the fourth before finishing the bout in the sixth.

The inside-the-distance win sees Foley move to 9(7)-2(0) and pick up the WBA Oceania belt, while Reyes falls to 15(10)-7(7)-1.
