Jamie Conlan [18(11)-0] tops the bill in Belfast next month and will face a former world title challenger.
The Belfast super flyweight headlines at the Waterfront Hall on Saturday February 18th and will face Nicaraguan Yader Cardoza [22(6)-10(5)-1].
Cardoza will no doubt be sharp for the bout, having fought as recently as last Saturday, outpointing Alexander Taylor over eight.
The WBC International Silver belt will be on the line for the fight. The organisation’s current champ is pound-for-pound number one Roman Gonzalez. Conlan has already secured a WBO title final eliminator for later in the year, so it is somewhat unusual that a rankings-enhancing belt from another organisation will feature. It is assumed that Conlan and his team are merely looking to keep their options open, rather than altering their world title path.
Also set to feature on the bill in Belfast are double Olympic bronze medalist Paddy Barnes, Phil Sutcliffe, Marco McCullough, Steven Ward, Lewis Crocker, Con Sheehan, and Kevin Satchell, with a further two all Irish clashes as James Tennyson takes on Declan Geraghty for the Irish super featherweight title, and Tyrone McKenna defending his BUI Celtic title against Jake Hanney.
