I’m Lovin’ It: Carl McDonald victorious on debut

An excited Carl McDonald has been ‘buzzing’ all week in the lead up to his professional debut and tonight he celebrated what will hopefully be the first of many wins.

The Tallaght super bamtamweight made his bow against Poland’s Kamil Jaworek on the MHD Promotions ‘Another Level’ show in Belfast.

The Eastern European southpaw was quite a tricky opening opponent for the Dubliner but in the end he claimed a comprehensive win.

The 2015 Intermediate champion hurt his opponent in the opening stanza and, from that point on, Jaworek was in full-on Bear Grylls survival mode.

The Pole looked to spoil for the remainder of the contest, but the Dubliner still landed a few nice single shots throughout before a frantic finish that had Jaworek hanging on.

With the scorecards a mere formality, McDonald was confirmed a 40:36 winner

The victory sees McDonald brand new professional ledger now read 1(0)-0. The crafty Jaworek falls to 3(0)-3(1).
