Guaranteed WAR – McCormack to defend against Quinn in Belfast

Graham McCormack [8(1)-1(0)] will defend his BUI Celtic middleweight title against Fearghus Quinn [4(1)-0] in Belfast on December 10.

A match-up that was doing the rumour rounds for some weeks was officially confirmed today, and the Limerick – Tyrone battle will play out on the undercard of Michael Conlan’s clash with former European Champion Karim Guerfi at the SSE Arena.

The first all-Irish clash to be confirmed on an undercard, that also hosts fights for Sean McComb and Tyrone McKenna, is one many believe has war written all over it.

McCormack under Shaun Kelly’s tutelage has reverted to his initial pressure approach, while Quinn only knows come forward fighting, leading to ‘explosive fight’ predictions.

‘G Train’ won the title when he settled a grudge against Dominic Donegan at the Europa Hotel this summer, he was since linked to an Irish title fight with Craig McCarthy in Waterford but returns to Belfast to defend the BUI Celtic title.

Belleek southpaw Quinn, 26, got four rounds in on the Return of the Mick card in August ending a year out of the ring with a win.
