Conrad Cummings has become the first undercard fighter confirmed for the Carl Frampton homecoming card in Belfast next month.

‘The Jackal’ will face Andres Gutierrez in a WBC featherweight title eliminator on Saturday July 29th at the SSE Odyssey Arena and will be supported by his McGuigan’s Gym and Cyclone Promotions stablemate.

Tyrone middleweight Cummings [11(5)-1(0)-1] won the WBO European title in his last fight and will defend this belt and look to move up the ladder against Poland’s Robert Swierzbinski [18(3)-6(4)-2].

The Eastern European fighter has mixed it with some top opposition over the years, although usually losing by stoppage.

Names on Swierzbinski’s record include former IBF champ David Lemieux (KO1), former British champ Chris Eubank Jr (KO7), Prizefighter champion Patrick Mendy (PTS12), former Commonwealth and British champion Tommy Langford (KO5), and former wold title challenger Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (KO2).

His most notable win came is probably that against Norbert Dabrowski, who was last year seen bringing PBC star Eleider Alvarez the distance. He has also outpointed tough Finn Timo Laine, who last year went seven with Langford.

In his most recent fight Cummings destroyed Austrian Gogi Knezevic inside three to win the WBO regional title. The Coalisland fighter had hoped to step in and challenge world champion Billy Joe Saunders following the withdrawal of Avantandil Khurtsidze, but the Englishman is instead set to fight in September.

It will be a first fight in Ireland for Cummings since November 2015 and his BBBoC Celtic title draw with Alfredo Meli.
