Big Belfast card announced for February

Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions have announced their first Belfast show of the new year.

The card will take place at the atmospheric +2,000-capacity Waterfront Hall on Saturday February 18th and will be shown live on Boxnation TV.

Confirmed as headliner is world title chasing super flyweight Jamie Conlan [18(11)-0]. The Belfast fighter has a WBO world title final eliminator in the pipeline, although it is currently unknown as to whether the fight in seven weeks time will be this aforementioned eliminator.

Conlan also holds the Commonwealth title, and the February fight night could be a defence of this belt. This was the original intention for the Belfast Boxnation show in November, only for opponent issues to force Conlan down the card into a non-title bout.

Undercard and ticket details will be confirmed next week.

February now promises to be a massive month for Irish boxing, as this card joins the MHD Promotions dinner show at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Saturday February 4th, and the Red Corner Promotions card at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday February 25th. In addition to this, finals night of the Senior (Elite) Championships takes place on Friday February 17th.
