Big Bad Vlad scores second Mexican knockout win in quick succession
The knockout streak continues.
Vladimir Belujsky [5(5)-1(1)-1] made it five career knockout wins with his third career first round stoppage in Mexico on Friday night.
The Mitchelstown super middleweight stopped Miguel Cipriano [0-5(5)] within a round in the border city of Tijuana to ensure all five of his career wins have come before the bell.
Indeed, the Irish title hopeful’s second Mexican victory in two weeks was his fifth inside two rounds.
‘The Slovak Rebel’, whose sole career defeat came against Roy Sheehan in the Last Man Standing format, is developing real momentum, but his knock out run could be under considerable threat come July 7th.
While Belujsky will be expected to defeat journeyman Darryl Sharp on the JB Promotions bill at the National Stadium, the 26-year-old English fighter has only been stopped once in 39 fights.
Only former light middleweight world title challenger Liam Williams has managed to take the former Central Area middleweight title holder, who fights for the super middleweight belt next weekend, and Sharp should, at least, bring the Cork fighter rounds.
Assassin Promotions claim victory on July 7th on the Beginning card will pave the way for a BUI Celtic title shot later in the year, while an possible Irish title fight with Darren Cruise is also in the works and looks likely if Ray Moylette brings boxing back West this Winter.
