Vladimir Belujsky hits out at “ridiculous” rivals

Vladimir Belujsky [5(5)-1(0)-1] has been a pro boxer for less than two years but is already sick of the modern trend of record protecting.

The Cork middleweight is desperate for a big fight and claims that six domestic opponents have turned him down in recent months.

‘The Slovak Rebel’ has today been confirmed for the Assassin Boxing ‘Rise Again’ show at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on October 6th and is open to facing anyone.

Belujsky contacted Irish-Boxing.com to state that “I am literally willing to fight anybody from middle to super middle.”

The Mitchelstown 22-year-old took a chance back in March, entering Ireland’s Last Man Standing where he was defeated by eventual winner Roy Sheahan.

Belujsky rebounded by flattening the rarely-stopped Iain Jackson in Belfast before racking up two quick knockouts in Mexico.

The Leesider was then in the frame to face Joshua Buatsi only for sanctioning issues to scupper this and the throwback fighter is keen to be in a ‘real’ fight.

“I’d rather fight 10 good people and beat six rather than fight 10 bums and be a nobody,” he explained.

“It’s ridiculous how protective people are of their records.”

“I lost to Roy and it didn’t affect me at all I’m back up and running chasing titles,” he added.

Belujsky has eyes on the BUI Celtic title – last held at super middleweight by Chris Blaney – and promised that “I’ll fight anyone at all middle to super middle on October 6th for a title.”

An eight-round title win would then put him in the frame for the Irish title held by his stablemate JJ McDonagh – who is moving to middleweight.

There are a number of contenders in and around the weight including stablemates Craig McCarthy and Darren Cruise, Derry destroyers Sean McGlinchey and Connor Coyle, and current titleholder Blaney, while Ulster boxers Taylor McGoldrick and Padraig McCrory are blocked from fighting in Dublin by their management outfit.

“I don’t care,” noted Belujsky. “I’d literally fight any of them on October 6th.”
