Hearn offers Frampton £1.5 million to fight Quigg

MATCHROOM Sports and Eddie Hearn today made Carl Frampton a take it or leave it offer of £1.5m to fight in Manchester.

Hearn made the offer on Sky Sports News and wants the clash to take place in Phones 4U Arena on July 18.

Negotiations between IBF super bantamweight Champion Frampton’s promoters and Matchroom, promoters of Quigg had taken place recently, but Hearn went public with a big offer today.

The Matchroom boss obviously hopes the cash offer will be enough to cut through the red tape of what are rumoured to be difficult negations.

However, there were suggestions the offer was a publicity stunt and a bid to put pressure on Cyclone to agree a deal.

Both teams are eager on the fight and both fighters have expressed a willingness to trade leather, but TV seems to a stumbling block. Cyclone want the clash to take place on ITV while Hearn is keen to make the bout a Sky pay per view event.

Cyclone, also instantly responded to the offer stating that any Frampton versus Quigg clash will be a co promotion and they will not be accepting the offer.
