Con Sheehan returns to action with a win

Con Sheehan tonight finally got his second professional win under his belt.

The Tipperary heavyweight was back in the ring for the first time in nine months, in which he has changed promoters and trainers.

Now cornered by Peter Fury, Sheehan stepped back through the ropes on the MGM Birmingham ‘Momentum’ show at the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre in Solihull.

The Clonmel giant faced Croation former top level kickboxer Igor Mihaljevic over four rounds, and boxed his way to a comfortable points win in the English Midlands. Sheehan took all four rounds with ease, looking sharp, and was awarded a 40:36 win on the referee’s scorecard.

The comeback victory sees Sheehan double his number of wins and move to 2(0)-0, while Mihaljevic drops to 2(0)-6(3).

The 27 year old is back in action next weekend at the Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester in another four rounder as he looks to quickly build up his record.
