Fryers claims first title with first stoppage win

JAMES Fryers delivered on his knock out promise and took the short route to his first title fight last Saturday night.

The 22 year old lightweight prospect claimed the International Masters Bronze title with a second round stoppage of journey man Sandor Horvath in the Devinish on Saturday night.

Fryer’s was happy to bank rounds and go the points route in his previous five paid outings, but was intent on getting a stoppage win on Saturday night.

The stylist showed spite from the off and was in seek and destroy mode from the off. He cut off the ring and worked the body of his taller foe in the first round.

In the second his work was more varied and Horvath’s was struggling with the pace set by ‘The Future’. The pressure eventually told and after a number of combinations from the Belfast fighter the referee stepped in to save the wilting Horvath leaving Fryers to celebrate his first title win and his recent engagement.
