On Friday in Pittsburg, light welterweight Matt Conway [6(3)-0-1] was held to a six-round split decision draw by Chrisshawn Alexander. ‘Sweet Child’ was disappointed by the result, feeling that he won the majority of the rounds at the Rivers Casino.
Saturday saw Swindon-Wexford cruiser Luke Watkins [9(5)-0] outpoint Dmitrij Kalinovskij over six at the York Hall.
In Cardiff on the big Boxnation show, there were three wins out of four.
Connaught cruiser Gary Sweeney [2(2)-0] stopped Marek Gabor, becoming the first ever boxer to do so, in the third round.
Light welterweight Tyrone McKenna [10(3)-0-1] had a good win in his first fight at the weight. The Belfast man outpointed the tricky Chris Adaway 60:54.
Belfast super flyweight Jamie Conlan [17(11)-0] scored a two round demolition of the overmatched Patrik Bartos.
In the bad-tempered headline bout, London-Irishman Gary Corcoran [15(6)-1(1)] was stopped in the eleventh round of his British light middleweight title fight with home favourite Liam Williams.
At the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester there was a brilliant win for Ruthless Ryan Doyle [13(7)-1(1)-1]. The Manchester-Dub outpointed Ian Bailey to win the English featherweight title and to exert revenge for the only professional loss of his career.
