Earlier this month Vladimir Belujsky and Manny Bique went to war for five minutes of toe-to-toe action.
The super middleweight pair opened the ‘Champions Elect’ show at the National Stadium in Dublin and wasted no time in getting down to business.
Two attacking fighters, it was Cork-Slovakian Belujsky that got the better of Dublin-Dominican Bique. The Mitchelstown man hit home with sharp shots toward the end of the first before an explosive second – and indeed final – round.
Belujsky [1(1)-0-1] forced a standing count and downed Bique [0-1(1)] twice heavily, forcing the bout to be waved off and thus claiming a statement win.
