The Cork-Cuban takes on WBC cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis [22(18)-0] at the Riga Arena tomorrow night in the quarter finals of the World Boxing Super Series.
A former world-rated heavyweight, Perez’s ability to make the 200lbs cruiserweight limit was called into question at Wednesday’s final press conference, with one Latvian journalist citing rumours that the Leesider has 5kg (11lbs) left to lose.
Perez and his team dismissed this talk and at today’s weigh-in they looked to mock the rumours.
Before stepping on the scales Perez had a few bites of a cheesecake – and then weighed in at a career-lowest 197.3lbs.
Briedis then came in slightly heavier at 198.6lbs.
The pair then engaged in a cordial face-off before being interviewed on stage.

Tomorrow night’s fight will be shown live and free on ITV Box Office (Sky channel 493).
The winner of the title fight will go into a unification with WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk in the new year.
