We are waiting to see what our next move is – McGuigan talks what’s next for Frampton
Carl Frampton is back in training suggesting he has a date and obviously an opponent lined up.
It could be the case that ‘The Jackal’ has has a plan A in the way of a summer showdown with featherweight World champion Leo Santa Cruz and a plan B a summer Belfast defence against IBF mandatory Shingo Wake and is training awaiting conformation as to what route he will take.
However, Shane McGuigan, when speaking to Pundit Arena, recently that the World champion, whose last bout was a February victory over Scott Quigg, Ā still has options.
The young coach indicated with his fan base and popularity the Belfast favourite is in a position of power and remains open to offers.
āNot an update. If there was an update we would hold a press conference,ā McGuigan said when asked if there was any opponent news.Ā
āThereās potential for fights for Leo Santa Cruz, thereās potential for fights for anyone out there, but it has to make business sense to Carl because he is the guy thatās bring all the money and the TV to the tableā.
āWe are just sitting here and waiting to see what our next move is and which guy comes to the tableā.
