The clash with English Champion Askin is set to be for the right to challenge McKenzie for his British strap. However, if McKenzie had won European hounours at the Copperbox he would have out grown the domestic scene.

Vacation would have opened the door for McCarthy and Lewis Dickinson to fight for the, with the winner promising to defend against Askins.

However, McKenzie has withdrawn from his clash with Dymtro Kutcher due to injury according to boxingscene meaning he will keep his British title for a little longer.
