RESULTS: The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – MARCH

Slightly later than advertised, it’s time for the results of the Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month awards every.

March was an amazing month for the sport, with two domestic shows, amateur success, and boxers fighting on the biggest of stages around the World.

A huge amount of votes came in throughout the week and, without further ado, the award goes to…

Eric Donovan

The Kildare featherweight’s amazing story continued with a fantastic Irish title win.

Following a nightmare 2018 due to injury, Donovan’s future in the sport looked unsure but he would stay determined and, linking up with Ken Egan and Joe Clifford, rebuilt himself.

Headlining ‘Clash of the Titans’ live on TG4, Donovan looked sensational in defeating Stephen McAfee, chopping down the Dubliner with a perfect left uppercut in the fourth round.

Before, during, and after, ‘Lilywhite Lightning’ looked every inch a star and the 33-year-old seems set for big things in 2019.

Coming in second was Dundalk lightweight Amy Broadhurst who claimed a sensational second European U22 title while Macroom light welter Noely Murphy finished third following his domestic win over John Joyce.
