Tennyson installed as bookies favourite ahead of British title fight

They say the bookies never get it wrong.

Irish fight fans will certainly be hoping that’s the case with regard to James Tennyson as he bids to become featherweight champion of Britain on April 30.

The 22 year old Belfast fight challenges Ryan Walsh for his strap in London on April 30 and according to the bookies is favourite to emerge victorious.

Considering Walsh is an established name, who is gunning to win the Lonsdale belt outright and ‘Tenny’ is a relative unknown outside of Belfast most were expecting the talented youngster to go in as an outsider.

However, the bookies believe the big punching Belfast Kronk graduate is set to cause a shock on a card that also plays host to a Commonwealth title fight for Jamie Conlan.
