Team Ireland finish fourth in EU Championships medals table

TEAM Ireland finished in 4th spot in the medals table and in third spot in the rankings table at the 2014 European Union Elite Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Please see below attachments for details.

Over the last four European Union Elites Championships, Ireland has never finished outside the top four in the medals table.

If the two split decisions that went against Team Ireland had gone the other way today, Ireland would have topped the medals table at this level for the second occasion in-a-row.

The European Union Elite Championships returned to the international calendar after a five-year absence in Sofia this year.

Team Ireland are due to arrive home tomorrow morning (August 17th) via Dublin Airport at 11:30am. All media are invited to attend Sunday’s homecoming.
