VIDEO: Spike O’Sullivan hits Ogogo in the face with his mankini
Spike O’Sullivan didn’t get to confront Anthony Ogogo after his bout in Birmingham on Saturday, but he did make sure that the Norwich middleweight felt his prescence.
The Cork man had travelled to the Barclaycard Arena for the ‘Bragging Rights’ card at the weekend and had planned to storm the ring after Ogogo’s clash with Craig Cunningham. However, the London 2012 bronze medalist fell to a shock eighth round retirement loss in the chief support bout on the night.
While he didn’t enter the ring, the Leesider pelted Ogogo with his infamous green Borat mankini as he stood dejected in his corner.
The incident was caught by the Sky Sports cameras.

Cork’s O’Sullivan had being tormenting the Norwich fighter in recent months, trying to goad him into a fight, in response to being name dropped in an interview by Ogogo at the start of the year. The Englishman would later claim that he did not want a clash with Irishman O’Sullivan as he craved a British title, and argued that Spike would need to hold a World title to warrant a fight.
Whether this bout is still a potential fight down the line following Ogogo’s loss remains to be seen.
