Ryan Farrag promises to take untested Burnett’s British belt

Ryan Farrag is planning an upset victory against Belfast’s Ryan Burnett.

The pair will clash for Burnett’s British bantamweight title on October 15th in Liverpool, and home boy Farrag is planning on taking home Lord Lonsdale.

Last time out Farrag lost his European title to Frenchman Karim Guerfi, but he had no reservations about taking a dangerous fight with the World title-chasing Burnett.

The 28 year old told the Liverpool Echo that “It was a straight yes for me. I spoke with my management team at MGM and they offered me the fight.

“They spoke about getting me a warm-up first somewhere in the middle of my camp, then go on and fight for the British so for me it was a straight yes. My coaches all agreed too.”

“It’s a good fight for me; he’s a great fighter, Ryan.

“This is the level I wanted to go straight back into anyway.”

“My last fight was just unfortunate, I got caught with a good shot. That’s the top level and that’s where I belong so I didn’t want to make a step down.”

Indeed Farrag is hugely confident and perhaps gave a sign of the smack-talk to come as he stated that “Ryan hasn’t really been tested in my eyes so we’ll find out what he’s about on October 15th.”

“He’s a big Matchroom fighter but he’s coming here to Liverpool to defend that belt and I’m just going to take it off him.
