Belfast bantamweight phenomenon Ryan Burnett has won the first title of his professional career. The 23 year old demolished Hungary’s Robert Kanalas inside two rounds to win the WBO European title.
Burnett had his central European opponent, a late replacement, down three times in the second stanza before the ref waved off the bout
With the win, Burnett’s flawless record now reads 11(9)-0. Kanales, on the other hand, falls to 10(7)-5(3).
The Irishman will now set his sights on his British title fight with the veteran Jason Booth next month on November 23rd in London.
