Rigondeaux tells Frampton to be more like McGregor and fight the ‘real’ Jackal

While Carl Frampton was busy buckling two World titles around his waist on Saturday night Guillermo Rigondeaux was busy on Twitter.

To say the Cuban fight legend and two time Olympic gold medalist is keen to share the ring with the WBA and IBF super bantamweight champion of the World is an understatement.

‘Rigo’, a former foe of Willie Casey, had previously called the Belfast fighter a coward for rebuffing his fight advances and, after the Belfast fighter’s victory over Scott Quigg on Saturday, the WBA ‘champion in recess’ was on Twitter trying to goad Frampton into a clash.

Frampton has always said he would be willing to fight a puncher he has a great deal of respect for, but his team and others feel their are more lucrative and fan friendly clashes out there for the ‘Jackal’.

‘El Chacal’, however is adamant Frampton should fight the real Jackal and claims he has ‘no excuse’ not to make the fight.

Indeed, Rigondeaux even called for Frampton to take a leaf out of Conor McGregor’s book and adopt a fight anyone, anywhere, anytime approach.
