RESULTS: The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – JUNE
Last week we asked for your say on our new Boxer of the Month award run in association with Liffey Crane Hire – and the response was phenomenal.
Following a slightly extended voting period, the results have been tallied allongside the judges picks and the verdict is now finally in – Joe Ward is the inaugural Irish-Boxing.com Liffey Crane Hire Boxer of the Month.
Ward takes the gong following a month in which he claimed a third European Championships gold medal, storming to top prize at the tournament in Kharkiv.
The Westmeath boxer strolled into the final in Eastern Europe, qualifying for the world championships in the process, before overcoming tough Russian Muslim Gadzhimagomedov to take an unprecedented third continental gold.
The 23 year old Moate man edged out new IBF bantamweight world champion Ryan Burnett who finished a very close second, with new Irish middleweight champion Luke Keeler coming in third.
